ABOUT US

The Taylor's Grand Challenges Scholar Programme is a curriculum based on the 14 Grand Challenges as outlined by the NAE in the United States. It uses the CDIOâ„¢ educational framework, a project-based learning approach that provides students with the big picture of engineering. Through this method, students are able to:
 

  • Master a deeper working knowledge of the fundamentals of engineering

  • Lead in the creation and operation of new products and systems

  • Understand the importance and strategic value of research work

TAYLOR'S GRAND CHALLENGES SCHOLARS PROGRAMME VISION AND
PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

Vision: 
To empower engineers to achieve their full potential and be the solution to humankind's Grand Challenges.

 

Programme Outcomes:
 

  • Demonstrate the competence to undertake projects or research activity related to a specific Grand Challenges theme or challenge.

 

  • Demonstrate the ability to comprehend and apply interdisciplinary knowledge in solving the Grand Challenges.

 

  • Demonstrate the ability for technical innovation, organizing events, raising funds and leading teams.

 

  • Demonstrate awareness of global ethical issues and global interdependence in solving the Grand Challenges. This requires active participation in seeking international exposure.

 

  • Demonstrate social awareness and the ability to bring technical expertise to bear on societal problems. This requires active participation in activities related to social concerns.
